The Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA) came into effect on 15 January 2015. The Federal Government has created a legislative instrument which specifies Australia’s commitment to the JAEPA.
The primary effect of the JAEPA on the Temporary Work (Skilled) (subclass 457) visa will be that labour market testing will not be applied to Japanese nationals or employees of businesses in Japan transferring to the Australian office of the business.
