As of 15 February 2011, a new Skilled Occupation List for subclass 457 Temporary Business and subclass 442 Occupational Trainee visas will apply.
The major changes are as follows:
1. The following occupations have been removed from the Skilled Occupation List:
- Beauty Therapist
- Bookmaker
- Hospitality, Retail and Service Managers
- Insurance Consultants
- Motion Picture Projectionists
- Private Investigators
- Production Assistants for Film, Television, Radio or Stage
2. The following occupation have been added to the Skilled Occupation List:
- Real Estate Agency Principal
- Small Engine Mechanic
- Sugar Cane Grower
- Wool Buyer
